Society and Culture Development in India is a peer-reviewed journal that will publish articles in the fields of sociology, social anthropology in the main, and sociology of education, sociology of medicine, arts and aesthetics, cultural studies, sociology of mass media, sociology of law, urban studies inter alia and social work. Journal is open to other related disciplines to maintain an interdisciplinary thrust, within the ambit of sociological and anthropological knowledge. The Journal would publish the research papers, review-essays, debates, in the temperament of both qualitative anthropology and sociology.

The quick and double-blind review process, rich editorial board, zero tolerance for plagiarism and high respect for publication ethics, a strong commitment for scheduled publication are the key features of the journal. The journal calls for research papers, review papers, conceptual framework, analytical and simulation models, case studies, empirical research, technical notes, and book reviews for the coming issue of the journals.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS

Language: The language of the manuscript must be English (either American or British standard, but not the mixture of both).

Length of paper: The length of the paper should not exceed 25 pages (Times New Roman, 12 Font) excluding tables, figures, references and appendices (if any). Paper containing more than 30 pages will be returned to the author(s) to a bridge. Articles should be typed in double-space (including footnotes and references) on one side of the paper only (preferably A4) with wide margins. Authors are urged to write as concisely as possible, but not at the expense of clarity.

Title Page: The title page should include:

(i) The name(s) of the author(s) (ii) A concise and informative title (iii)The affiliation(s) and address (es) of the author(s) (iv)The e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers of the corresponding author.

Abstract, Keywords, and Abbreviations:

The abstract should:

•  Describe the context and purpose of the study

•  Explain how the study was performed, including any model organisms used, without methodological detail

•  Summarize the main findings and their significance

•  Be less than 300 words

Please minimize the use of abbreviations (if possible) and do not cite references in the abstract. 5 to 10 keywords should be provided after the abstract in a separate paragraph.

Acknowledgement: The author may use the acknowledgement section on the title page of the paper (if any).

Subdivision of the article: Divide your article into clearly defined and numbered sections. Subsections should be numbered 1, 2. (then 1.1, 1.1.1, 1.1.2), 1.2, etc. The abstract is not included in section numbering.

Table and Figures: Present tables and figures within the article, not at the end of the article. Please note that the article will be published in black and white (print), although the online version will contain colourful figures (if any). However, the colour print will be available in extreme cases as per the request of the author.

References: Author(s) should follow the latest edition of APA style in referencing. Please visit www.apastyle.org to learn more about APA style.

Citations in the text: Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). Avoid citation in the abstract. Unpublished results and personal communications should not be in the reference list but may be mentioned in the text. Citation of a reference as ‘in press’ implies that the item has been accepted for publication.

Reference List: References should be arranged first alphabetically and then further sorted chronologically if necessary.
